Yep Unfortunately summer is over for me, I am done with all my trips and college visits and have to start school in one week, I’m kind of looking forward to starting school just so that I’ll be done before I know it. These next few years ahead are going to be the best years. I cannot wait to get out of Minnesota and come back to California full time. Maybe I might miss the snow or the fall once or twice but I can always go to Big Bear or Lake Tahoe if I need to get away from the sun for a little bit. Growing up in San Diego I never really knew anything else besides San Diego and California. Moving to Minnesota has definitely gave me a different perspective of people and that’s fine, I just think I belong in California more specifically San Diego than I do here. With school starting soon I want to share some tips on how to get through the school year without being overwhelmed. Every year I never have any classes with any of my friends in them and its not the best but try to talk to people that are in their because you dont want to go a whole semester being that person who is silently isolated from everyone having fun or maybe you do, whatever makes you happy. Anyways here are my tips on how to survive the school year
#1 Dont care what anyone thinks. - don’t care what anyone says about you sometimes it can be hard but just think that the people talking about you are bored and have nothing else to talk about- that says a lot about their character, their poor character.
#2 Get a Planner. Buy a planner for the year and write down every assignment you get and every event their is so you don’t miss anything. Being prepared is everything, if you always have your stuff done teachers will probably like you more, so whenever you bomb a test or assignment and it tanks your grade, you might get to redo it.
#3 Pay Attention to Extra Credit. Extra credit can change our grade dramatically, that 89 B+ could be an A- with extra credit help, it’s their to help you and to boost your grade, take it!!
#4 Study for Tests. Studying for tests is a very good way to get high grades, make flashcards, make a quizlet, write it down a hundred timed, whatever you can do to get it through your head, it’s so much easier to know the material by studying than to guess and be confused.
#5 Have fun. Have fun in high school you only get high school one time, go to parties, go out with you friends, have fun! Don’t be stressed out that all you want to do it stay home, get out and do stuff! Just manage your social life with school work and you’ll be okay.
