My Prediction for The Future of Silicon Valley

Silicon Valley, the location of some of the biggest tech companies in the world. Home to Apple, Google, Facebook, Adobe, and many others. San Jose, Santa Clara, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale, are the main cities consisting of Silicon Valley. I am firmiliar with Silicon Valley and while I don't consider it to be what others see it as, I see a possible downfall for the tech companies in their location. My grandparents and other family live in Silicon Valley, I grew up in San Diego but I frequented seeing them, I had no idea that it had the jobs it has, and the prices on a home to own there. Silicon Valley is one of the most expensive places to live in the USA, and while you are probably thinking duh, its California everything is overpriced, overtaxed, and overrated, San Jose has brought a whole new meaning to overpriced. I have personally been doing some apartment looking in the Santa Clara area, if I am accepted I will be lucky to go to Santa Clara University. Santa Clara isn't as overpriced as San Jose, and you probably could get a nice apartment for under $3,000. I personally like that area a lot, Los Altos, Los Gatos and Campbell are my favorite places in Northern California. Jobs in that are some of the highest paying jobs too , having one of the highest salaries around $144,800 (Abandon.com). Everyone wants a high paying job, with a great place to live, in sunny California, current day San Jose is the result of that. San Jose is EXTREMELY crowded, its absolutely insane, people are living in their cars because you have to pay $500,000 for a house that is falling apart and sinking to the ground, and its probably not in the best side of town either. With lots of people, there is traffic, going to the beach will have you stuck in traffic for a good hour probably. There are 8 lanes for traffic going one way and if you hit the wrong time, you'll be stuck there for a while, but hey look on the bright side, your in California, admire the views. I can only imagine what the tech companies have to pay on renting their headquarters. That being said, I think workers will get tired of they're timely commute to work every day, the prices they have to pay, and the citys growing population and finnaly move somewhere outside California. There has been a lot of talk recently on the companies leaving the Bay Area, I personally think they will, in the next 5-10 years. I think there will be a recession again, causing the market to crash, companies to tank, and people to leave California in hope to get an affordable house that isn't in someones backyard, with a good job. I see the tech companies going to Idaho, or maybe New Mexico. Idaho is great, they have lots of land, there isn't a ton of people there already, and its not California. Taxes are pretty low in Idaho too, many people that grew up in San Jose in the 60's and 70's are actually moving out of San Jose to Idaho, I guess they have had enough. If Apple and Google were to relocate to Idaho, or somewhere other than California, it will be interesting to see what would happen. Time will only tell.
